My Philips steam generator switches off during ironing

If your Philips PerfectCare steam generator iron is switching off by itself, there could be several causes. Learn more here.

The iron has gone into standby mode

Your Philips PerfectCare steam iron is equipped with an auto shut-off function. If your appliance has switched to the standby mode, this is indicated by the blue or white power on/off button flashing. This is automatically activated if the appliance is not used for 10 minutes (for safety reasons and to reduce energy consumption).

Press the power on/off button to switch on the steam generator again.

It might be that your appliance has an internal electrical problem

You will notice that the appliance stops working when you move the steam hose. This indicates that the electronics may have been damaged during use.
We recommend that you contact Philips Consumer Care and ask for a repair.
