Situation
When viewing content on the TV, the picture format is incorrect.
• The picture format is not already pre-set in the source material (for example on an external device, or broadcasts on HD channels with black bars included)
To change the picture format on the TV:
Press the [Format] button on the remote control
Or
Press the [Settings] button on the remote control and select [Picture format]
Note: The picture format function is not available when viewing USB content or using Smart TV. If the picture format is changed from these sources, the TV will automatically switch to a TV channel.
Select one of the following formats (not all of them are available on every TV):
• [Auto fill] / [Fill screen]
Automatically enlarges the picture to fill the screen. Picture distortion is minimal, subtitles remain visible. Not suitable for PC input. Some extreme picture formats can still show black bars
• [Fit to screen]
Automatically zooms in the picture to fill the screen without distortion. Black bars may be visible. Not suitable for PC input.
• [Zoom]
Allows to manually zoom the picture in or out. Black bars may be visible.
• [Auto zoom]
Automatically zooms in the picture to fill the screen as much as possible without distortion. Black bars may be visible. Not suitable for PC input
• [Super zoom]
Removes the black bars on the side of 4:3 broadcasts. The picture is adjusted to fit the screen.
• [Stretch]
Allows to manually stretch or squeeze the picture regarding both height and width. Black bars (horizontal and / or vertical) may be visible.
• [Shift]
Allows to manually move the whole picture through the screen. Shifting is only possible when the picture is zoomed in.
• [Movie expand 16:9]
Scales the picture to a 16:9 format.
• [Wide screen]
Stretches the picture to a 16:9 format.
• [Unscaled] / [Original]
Expert mode for HD or PC input. Pixel for pixel display. Black bars may appear with pictures from a computer.
When using the TV in combination with a set-top box, the box itself can also have picture format settings. Check the different picture format settings on the set-top box to see if the correct format appears.
