Even though we can now get back to spending more time together, remote living and working hasn't completely gone away. Here are a few ways to feel close even when you're far apart:
Now that we are all online so much, it is sometimes nice to communicate with each other offline. So send a card to your parents, sister, brother or other relatives and friends
When you call people, use that camera. Because there's nothing better than seeing your sister's house as cluttered as your own. Or your colleague sitting in a comfy track suit, too. But especially because you can see better through video how someone really feels. So use Facetime, Whatsapp, Messenger, Zoom, Skype, Google Hangout — whatever works for you both.
Your grandparents are not allowed to leave their retirement home. Make a nice banner or put on a colorful or funny outfit and drive by. They will really cherish those moments. Do they still live at home? Bring a chair and put it on the terrace or in front of the front door and chat at a safe social distance. It is important they don’t become lonely either and that chat can help them a lot – and yourself, too, of course!
Do some creative cooking, or just a big pot of spaghetti sauce, and drop it off for your grandparents at their door. Or surprise an elderly neighbor with a delicious homemade meal. It’s a simple way to brighten someone’s day and provide some healthy food, too.
