What monitoring options are available on the Philips Avent Video Baby Monitor?

When using full video and audio monitoring, the display status light is off. The display is always on, audio is continuously heard, and the sound level lights are active. Use video and audio monitoring to check on your baby anytime and want to see and hear them continuously.

Battery saver mode helps extend the parent unit’s battery life by keeping the display off until sound is detected. Use battery saver mode if you want to use the parent unit for longer on a single charge, and see video only when you can hear your baby.

To enter battery saver mode:

1. Press the menu button on the parent unit.
2. Use the control button highlight Battery saver mode. Press the center of the control button to enable.

When battery saver mode is enabled, the display status light turns solid green. When sound is detected, the display wakes and shows live video.

Yes. You can turn off the parent unit display while audio monitoring continues. Use audio-only monitoring if you want to hear your baby continuously but don't need the video on.

To turn off the display, briefly press the on/off button. The display status light turns solid white, and the sound level lights remain active. Briefly press the on/off button again to turn the display back on. 

If you do not want continuous audio, you can turn on battery saver mode, as detailed in the above section.

Tip: The sensitivity level can be adjusted so you will always hear your baby without the disruption of other sounds. If there is continuous background noise from sources like a fan or air conditioning, decrease the sensitivity to prevent affecting the sound level lights or allowing these sounds to be heard on the parent unit.
