Frequently Asked Questions

What do the different Philips Steam generator lights mean?

Your Philips Steam generator is equipped with handy lights to make your life easier. Find out what the lights are trying to tell you.

Green light

ECO button light is green. You can save energy using the ECO setting and still have sufficient steam to iron your garment. To switch back to the 'Optimal Temp' setting, press the ECO button again.

Blue light

The power-on light on the appliance is blue. If the 'iron ready' light turns blue and starts to flash, it means that the appliance is heating up. When the appliance is ready for use, the 'iron ready light' and the power-on light stop flashing and light up continuously. Additionally you hear a short beep.

Amber light

If the water tank light turns amber, it indicates that the water tank needs to be refilled with water.

If the EASY DE-CALC light turns amber, the EASY DE-CALC light flashes and the appliance beeps continuously after about a month or 10 ironing sessions to indicate that the appliance needs to be descaled.

White light

Press and hold the on/off button for 2 seconds until the light turns white into TURBO mode. The white TURBO light on the on/off button will start to flash to indicate that the iron is heating up to the TURBO setting. This takes up to 2 minutes.
