My Philips groomer, trimmer or clipper is not charging

If your Philips groomer, beard trimmer or hair clipper is not charging, the troubleshooting tips below may help you find a solution.

We recommend that you follow the steps in the order listed below. In between steps, check to see if the issue is resolved before moving to the next.

Check the electric socket where you have plugged in your charger to see if it is working. You can also try plugging in a different device to make sure the power outlet is working.

Make sure that you are using the original Philips charger or USB cable that came with your product.

If you no longer have the original charger or if the charger is damaged, you can find a replacement here or by contacting Philips Consumer Care.

Apply gentle pressure to ensure that the plug on the end of the charging cable is fully inserted into the product. The charger should not need to be forced, but may be slightly stiff (especially when the product is new).

If you are using a charging stand, make sure that the product is placed on the charging stand correctly. If your product charges when connected directly to the charging cable, but not when it's on the charging stand, there may be a problem with the stand.

If a USB charging cable was provided with your Philips product, it's essential to ensure that you're using a suitable power source to charge your device. Philips recommends using a USB wall adapter with an output voltage of 5 V and a power output of 1 A or higher.

If your USB charging product is not charging, try using an alternative power source, such as a different wall adapter or a USB port on a laptop or computer.

If your Philips grooming product doesn't switch on after being connected to the charger, the issue may not be related to charging.

Over time, products can become clogged with hair and debris, preventing them from switching on. While this could be misinterpreted as meaning the battery isn't charged, cleaning the product is the solution.

Thoroughly clean your product following the instructions provided in the user manual (which you can find online by searching for the model number here) before trying to switch the device on again.
