The 2D to 3D conversion technology does not meet Philips' requirements regarding the picture quality and our promise to deliver the ultimate cinematic experience to your home.
Systems that use automatic signal processing sometimes incapable of identifying the objects of interest in a scene. Therefore, these systems can not always determine at which depth in the picture the different elements of the scene should be placed, which makes the wrong elements “pop out”.
Additionally, material that has not been specifically produced for a 3D experience (i.e. “converted” material) will always deliver a poor experience compared with dedicated 3D material.
