For irons with the Auto Shut Off (ASO) feature, the "iron-ready light" will start blinking when:
- The iron remains stationary horizontally on its soleplate for a specific period. For irons with temperature dial: 30 seconds. For Optimal Temp irons: 2 minutes.
- Standing stationary vertically on its heel rest for 8 minutes (for all models).
While in ASO state, the iron will stop heating up and start to cool down.
When the iron is moved or put in motion, the "iron-ready light" will start to breathe or remain steady ON (model dependent), indicating it is heating up again.
Once the iron-ready light stops blinking and remains steady ON/turns OFF (model dependent), the soleplate is heated and the iron is ready to be used.
If your iron has a dedicated Auto Shut Off light, the "iron-ready light" will not be lit when the iron enters the ASO state. The above lighting behaviour still applies.
