Can any other sounds be mistaken for baby cries?

Yes. Cry Translation operates like other voice-activated smart devices, such as Google Home. It listens to a predefined trigger (baby crying) and sends the cry sound to the Cloud for analysis (e.g. hunger or sleepiness). The feature aims to detect only baby cries. But it may occasionally misinterpret other noises like pet noises, white-noise machines, dehumidifiers or vacuum cleaners. Efforts are made to minimise false activations. However, some non-cry sounds might still get processed, which is common for similar technologies. Ideally, the baby monitor should be used in an environment that has low background noise, such as a nursery.
