Inspiring innovation in collaboration

Collaboration. Whether it’s in the approach we take to our partners, customers and colleagues, or the tools we use to make that approach easier, 2020 is the year in which working collaboratively will take centre stage.

Philips Professional Display Solutions has always had a strong reputation for building real value-add solutions with innovative partners across the verticals, and for working with installers and end-users to bring their displays to life. Now, the market-leading digital display solutions provider has prioritised collaborative working in its product development, with a series of new launches aimed specifically at not just facilitating collaboration, but making it hassle free too.

According to the latest Futuresource Interactive Displays in The Education and Corporate Sectors Market Track report, the 2019 market was on track for annual increases of 5% volume and 10% value. In fact, 2019 should be the first year to break the 2 million unit mark for interactive displays, globally achieving $5.9 billion in value. And the global market is forecast to remain robust with the market increasing by around five per cent per year until 2023.

Sales of collaboration displays have seen spectacular growth in the past two years, and this growth is set to continue, in the corporate marketplace in particular, with adoption there expected to double over the next five years to 713,000 displays in 2023.

Meeting next level corporate collaboration with the brand new C- and B-Lines

Catering for this growing corporate market, with a product that is set to raise a new standard in interactive displays, the new Philips C-Line collaboration display range brings new levels of engagement and creativity to meetings, with sizes developed to suite large board rooms through to space-limited huddle rooms – including 55”, 65”, 75” and 86”.

What’s more, harnessing all the functionality and familiarity of a powerful Microsoft Windows PC, and with a wide range of dedicated apps and features, these PCAP touch screen displays enable participants to play an active role in any meeting, whether physically in the room, in another office, working from home, or even another country, thanks to its seamless screen sharing capabilities.

System administrators can integrate the displays, using their embedded professional version of the Windows operating system, into the corporate infrastructure strategy, whether this is a full Microsoft environment (Exchange, Teams, Azure, etc.) or, for example, a Google implementation (GSuite, Hangouts, etc.).

Harold Niericker, Head of Product Management for Signage, explains the rationale behind the C-Line’s development: “Collaboration has been a buzz-word among businesses for many years but there has been a big divide between saying it and doing it. Its reported that the number of hours spent by office workers averages over 10 hours a week. Concerningly, a survey from Harvard Business Review revealed 71% of senior managers consider meetings as unproductive and inefficient and Doodle’s State of Meetings Report 2019 found that poorly organised meetings cost billions every year.

This year, we’re helping to alleviate those inefficiencies with products that work to overcome the barriers and obstacles faced in meeting room collaboration.”

Bridging the gap for the smaller business environment, Philips Professional Display Solutions has also launched its B-Line range, available in 50”, 58”, 70” and 75” size options.

The new Philips B-Line is a highly versatile series of Google- and Crestron-certified UHD Pro TVs, harnessing the power of Android and Chromecast built-in to provide the most universal solution for sharing ideas and content from their own device during meetings.

“This new range of displays ticks all the requirements from users who are looking for large meeting room displays with simple and secured wireless sharing functionalities via the most widely technology available – Chromecast” says Jeroen Verhaeghe, Product Manager for Professional TVs.

“In addition, with full access to the Google Play Store and with a built in tuner, these displays can be used by employees during down time, creating invaluable employee engagement opportunities, too.”

Engaging best in class interactivity for education with T-Line

With the education technology market set to more than double in value by 2022 to $40.9 billion, the role of technology in classrooms has not only become an essential component for teaching and learning, it is also increasingly a key decision maker for parents and students when selecting their school, college or university. Interactivity and a collaborative approach to learning are critical to inclusivity at all levels.

With this in mind, a new series of T-Line displays has been introduced, loaded with features developed specifically for all levels of educational settings. Available in 65”, 75” and 86” model variants, this latest range of interactive touch displays is sleek and stylish with narrow bezels, bringing quality design back into classrooms and lecture theaters.

Powered by Android – the world’s most popular OS with more than 2.5 billion active devices – the T-Line provides instant familiarity and almost universal usability for students and tutors alike, while supporting all major operating systems, including ChromeOS, macOS, Windows and iOS.

T-Line displays actively encourage students to participate during lessons, featuring 20 touch points, high speed technology and an optimised glass coating to deliver a high-class writing experience.

Also allowing students to contribute to lessons without the need to leave their seat, up to 64 devices can connect to the display at any time, while up to four are able to share their work back onto the main screen at a time as well.

Collaboration is vital for businesses in all arenas and this is something the General Manager for Philips’ Professional Display Solutions in EMEA, AP & NA, Chris Colpaert, firmly agrees with.

“Ever since launching its first TV in 1938, Philips has remained at the forefront of change in the industry. Working closely with the global market to understand, address and overcome everyday pain points and obstacles in the ever-changing workplace, at Philips Professional Display Solutions we create new and truly innovative products and solutions.

“2020 is the year of collaboration. And we look forward to working closely with you.”
