Philips PDS sales manager and NHS volunteer Caroline Grimes to take part in charity head shave to support children’s charity workers during pandemic

Philips Professional Display Solutions sales manager, NHS volunteer and all-round hero, Caroline Grimes, is to ‘baldy’ go where she has never been before, by taking part in sponsored charity headshave to help raise valuable funds for key workers and families at children’s charity, The Rainbow Trust.

This amazing Children's Charity enables families who have a child with a life-threatening illness to make the most of precious time together; providing expert practical and emotional support, where they need it, for as long as it is needed.

Selfless Caroline, who has been with the Philips Professional Display Solutions UK team for four years, is hoping to raise £3,000 for the charity ahead of the big chop. She has already seen significant support through her JustGiving page, now nearing almost 50pc of her target.

Caroline commented: “At a time when we're all recognising the huge pressure that key workers, especially those caring for others, are under every single moment, I want to do all I can to make a difference. During lockdown, I've been volunteering, giving my time to help those in need in my local community.

“I feel that our support needs to go further, though. So, I've decided to shave off my lovely golden locks for the Philips Professional Display Solutions UK charity of the year - the Rainbow Trust.”

Volunteering for the NHS and beyond

When not selling digital signage and professional TVs for Philips PDS, or raising money for charity, Caroline is also currently devoting her spare time providing valuable support and assistance to her local community as an NHS volunteer responder during the Covid-19 crisis.

Supporting the Winshill Neighbourhood Centre in Staffordshire, Caroline helps a team of volunteers collect, pack and deliver vital food parcels – donated from local farms and supermarkets – for people self-isolating and in need during these difficult times.

Caroline is also an NHS ‘Check-in and Chat’ volunteer for the Royal Voluntary Service - one of Britain’s largest volunteer organisations – providing invaluable resource to people that are self-isolating and in need of friendly support over the phone.

Philips Professional Display Solutions UK Sales Director, Martin Ware, said: “We’re immensely proud of Caroline and her incredible commitment and unselfish devotion to helping others during these very difficult and scary times. The Rainbow Trust, which we’ve selected this year as our Philips Professional Display Solutions UK team charity of the year, is incredible and we are delighted to support them and Caroline.

“On behalf of Philips Professional Display Solutions, we’d like to extend our immense gratitude and appreciation to everyone that’s helping to support vital charities, health organisations like the NHS and devoting their time in helping others. You’re all heroes in our eyes.”
