2020: Inspiring meeting room collaboration

Collaboration. Whether it’s in the approach we take to our partners, customers and colleagues, or the tools we deliver to make that approach easier, at Philips Professional Display Solutions we have a long and well-proven history in working collaboratively.

Working to facilitate collaboration across the sectors, at ISE 2020, we launched a series of new product lines that aim to make collaborative working intuitive and hassle free in huddle spaces, meeting rooms, board rooms, the classroom and other educational settings.

According to the latest Futuresource Interactive Displays in The Education and Corporate Sectors Market Track report, the global market in 2019 was on track for annual increases of 5% volume and 10% value. In fact, 2019 should be the first year to break the 2 million unit mark for interactive displays, globally achieving $5.9 billion in value. And the global market is forecast to remain robust with the market increasing by around five per cent per year until 2023.

Sales of collaboration displays have seen spectacular growth in the past two years, and this growth is set to continue, in the corporate marketplace in particular, with adoption there expected to double over the next five years to 713,000 displays in 2023.

Next level corporate collaboration with the brand new C-Line

Catering for this growing corporate market, with a product that is set to raise a new standard in interactive displays, the new Philips C-Line collaboration display range brings new levels of engagement and creativity to meetings, with sizes developed to suite large board rooms through to space-limited huddle rooms – including 55”, 65”, 75” and 86”.

What’s more, harnessing all the functionality and familiarity of the powerful Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OS, and with a wide range of dedicated apps and features, these PCAP touch screen displays with edge-to-edge glass enable participants to play an active role in any meeting, whether physically in the room, in another office, working from home, or even another country, thanks to its seamless screen sharing capabilities.

System administrators can integrate the displays, using their embedded professional version of the Windows operating system, into the corporate infrastructure strategy, whether this is a full Microsoft environment (Exchange, Teams, Azure, Skype, etc.) or, for example, a Google implementation (GSuite, Hangouts, etc.) and tools like GoToMeeting and Zoom.

Harold Niericker, Head of Product Management for Signage, explains the rationale behind the C-Line’s development: “Collaboration has been a buzz-word among businesses for many years but there has been a big divide between saying it and doing it. Its reported that the number of hours spent by office workers averages over 10 hours a week. Concerningly, a survey from Harvard Business Review revealed 71% of senior managers consider meetings as unproductive and inefficient and Doodle’s State of Meetings Report 2019 found that poorly organised meetings cost billions every year.

This year, we’re helping to alleviate those inefficiencies with products that work to overcome the barriers and obstacles faced in meeting room collaboration.”

Meeting connectivity with the brand new B-Line

Bridging the gap for the smaller business environment, Philips Professional Display Solutions has also launched its B-Line range, available in 50”, 58”, 70” and 75” size options.

The new Philips B-Line is a highly versatile series of Google- and Crestron-certified UHD Pro TVs, harnessing the power of Android and Chromecast built-in to provide the most universal solution for sharing ideas and content from their own device during meetings.

“This new range of displays ticks all the requirements from users who are looking for large meeting room displays with simple and secured wireless sharing functionalities via the most widely technology available – Chromecast” says Jeroen Verhaeghe, Product Manager for Professional TVs.

“In addition, with full access to the Google Play Store and with a built in tuner, these displays can be used by employees during down time, creating invaluable employee engagement opportunities, too.”

Collaboration is vital for businesses in all arenas and this is something our General Manager for EMEA, AP and NA, Chris Colpaert, firmly agrees with.

“Philips has remained at the forefront of change in the industry ever since launching its first TV in 1938. Working closely with the global market to understand, address and overcome everyday pain points and obstacles in the ever-changing workplace, at Philips Professional Display Solutions we create new and truly innovative products and solutions.

“2020 is the year of collaboration. And, as we bring these products into circulation in H2 this year, we look forward to working closely with you.”
