Which Philips Avent Natural Response teat best suits my baby?

Published on 15 November 2022
Newborns tend to follow the same pattern with breastfeeding as they do while bottle-feeding. While age can be a guide, we recommend watching your baby's cues to find the best teat flow. It can take a few attempts for your baby to adjust from a traditional teat to a Natural Response teat.

You may begin with the teat that comes with the bottle and adjust from there. If you have no success after a few feeding attempts, consider changing to a different teat flow. You might need a higher flow if your baby struggles to get milk out or play with the teat. You might need a lower teat flow if you notice milk leaking from your baby's mouth or your baby gulping too fast.

The Natural Response teat is available in teat flows 1 to 6. Teat 6 is more suitable for thicker liquids or babies who want a fast flow.

Suppose you previously used the original Natural teat. In that case, your newborn might need a higher teat flow with the Natural Response teat since your little one is used to more milk flowing with less effort.
