My Philips steamer leaves stains on the garment

If your Philips steamer leaves stains or emits impurities from the steamer head, there might be a simple solution. Just read along.

There are two possible causes:

1) Scale/calc forms inside the steamer.

Solution: Perform the de-calc function.

To use the de-calc function, place the steamer down with the de-calc function facing up. Once the de-calc door and inlet stopper have been opened, invert the steamer to shake off any scale and water deposited inside the chamber.

Warning: Do not pour water, vinegar, descaling agents or other chemicals into the opening of the de-calc function.

2) Apart from tap water, other liquids / additives or descaling agents should not be added to the water tank.

Solution: Use only tap, demineralised or filtered water when filling up the water tank.
